About Pryors

We’ve been in business here for nearly 200 years, opening a general stores in Harwell in 1833 and later on in Didcot, and then in the 1950s starting a taxi business.

Basil Pryor founded Pryors Taxis in 1955 retiring as a partner in 1993, but remaining as a driver until April 2012. The business is now owned by his daughter and son, Caroline and David. We also have Mario Andrade as Company Director, Michael James as Operations Manager and Lauren, Sachin and Julia are our Controllers.

We’ve served our clients and we’ve been at the forefront of new technology; we like to think that’s been our recipe for success. We were the second taxi company in the UK to install two-way radios in the 1950s even before police forces had them. In the 1990s Pryors focused on high quality services for the corporate market.

Today, we use every technology device to give our clients the very best service that is second to none.
