Soiling Charges

Soiling Charge Policy

Purpose

This policy explains when a soiling charge may be applied and how it will be administered. It helps ensure that our vehicles remain clean, presentable, and available for subsequent clients.

Soiling Charge

A soiling charge of up to £80 may be applied where a vehicle is soiled by the hirer or any passenger and requires cleaning beyond normal wear and tear.

The charge covers:

  • Professional interior cleaning or valeting
  • Removal of stains, spills, odours, or bodily fluids
  • Loss of vehicle availability while the vehicle is cleaned

The amount charged will be proportionate to the level of cleaning required and will not exceed £80.

When the charge may apply

A soiling charge may apply where the vehicle requires additional cleaning due to:

  • Vomiting or other bodily fluids
  • Spilled food, drink, or other substances
  • Mud, dirt, or staining on seats, carpets, or upholstery
  • Excessive litter or waste left in the vehicle
  • Any other soiling that makes the vehicle unfit for immediate further use

Exemptions

We recognise that medical emergencies can occur unexpectedly. The charge may be waived or reduced where soiling results from a genuine medical condition or unforeseen medical emergency, particularly where the chauffeur or our office is informed as soon as reasonably possible.

Evidence and Payment

Where a soiling charge is applied, we will retain appropriate evidence, such as photographs, for record-keeping purposes. The charge will be clearly itemised on the booking invoice or charged to the payment method used for the reservation.

Client Responsibility

The person or business responsible for the booking is liable for any applicable soiling charge, including where the soiling is caused by a passenger travelling under that booking.

This policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions of Hire. Comparable UK chauffeur and private-hire operators commonly apply a fixed soiling charge where a vehicle requires professional cleaning or is temporarily taken out of service
